Joshua Newman

Joshua Newman is Director of the Australian Housing and Urban ÂþÌìÌÃÈë¿Ú Institute’s Monash University ÂþÌìÌÃÈë¿Ú Centre. He is a scholar of evidence-based policy making, government-expert interaction, and the interface between governments and the private sector. His research covers diverse policy areas, including privatisation, risk regulation, climate change, and urban transport infrastructure.
Josh is also ÂþÌìÌÃÈë¿Ú Lead for Monash University's Better Governance and Policy strategic initiative, whose objective is to support the translation of scientific research into more effective and more equitable societal outcomes. In particular, Josh's work with Better Governance and Policy aims to improve research impact and interdisciplinary research collaboration.
He has extensive experience conducting outreach with government and the private sector, including through the design and delivery of executive education programs across Australia and internationally.
